Liyah is a first-generation American and college student who understands firsthand how education can transform lives and open doors to new opportunities. For the past nine years, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that all students’ voices are heard and that educators, leaders across sectors, and every adult working with young people keep students at the center of their work.
Liyah holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Legal Studies, Education, and Theater from Bowdoin College. In her previous roles, she partnered with higher education institutions to design and launch programs aligned with student interests and labor market needs, ensuring that graduates were well-positioned for meaningful careers. She also collaborated with mid- to large-sized public school districts across the Southwest and Midwest regions of the United States to expand access to high-quality programs and resources that help students thrive in the classroom.
At NEON, Liyah works directly with higher education partners to ensure that courses are ready for launch and that scholars have the support they need to succeed. She is deeply committed to expanding access to upward mobility through education, believing that education is a tool of liberation for the mind, body, and spirit. NEON provides a unique opportunity for students to experience college-level learning from college professors at a young age, and Liyah is passionate about making that opportunity accessible to students everywhere.
